The UUNET Engineering PoP will close on 31 December 2001. These pages are not intended as a complete replacement for the Engineering PoP but will continue to provide information and test opportunities to Pipex customers who are interested, or who are working an issue with Pipex support.
From 1 January 2002, UB1 and UB5 will no longer be employed by WorldCom. They are available as private consultants to investigate dialup and related issues - connection speeds, advice on line quality, modem code versions and modem testing for manufacturers and laptop suppliers. Please contact us via the UB1 and UB5 mailboxes (see below for details).
Modem information. Check here to see if you are running the latest driver code version for your modem. This is information about the most frequently installed (non RISC) modems. John Williams' help page for RISC OS users and Argonet subscribers is http://www.resources.ukgateway.net/UUNetTest. The UBs are very grateful to John for all the work he did to create these clear and helpful pages.
